We'll get it right this time - Smith

12 April 2012

England coach Tony Smith is confident his under-performing players will turn on the style in Saturday's World Cup semi-final with New Zealand.

Smith's men have limped into the last four after three unimpressive group matches, and have already been dismissed by the pundits after losing 36-24 to the Kiwis just four days ago.

"Some of our players probably haven't shown as much as they can produce - we're looking forward to them doing that," said Smith.

"It's three games into the tournament and we'd like the players who haven't performed so far to do it in game four, and I've got no doubt that they will.

"It's a chance for them to put their best foot forward and show the world what they can do.

"I don't think we've done that as a squad entirely. Some individuals have but we want to do it as a team."
