We'll take anger out on Arsenal, says Michael Ballack

Michael Ballack today urged Chelsea to bounce back from their Champions League woes by knocking Arsenal out of the title race.

Chelsea blew another opportunity to secure their place in the last 16 after conceding an equaliser seven minutes from time in Bordeaux and must now beat Romanian side Cluj in two weeks' time to guarantee their place in the next round.

Ballack says they can give themselves a confidence boost by beating Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to move 13 points clear of their rivals in the Premier League table.

The German insists Arsenal are there for the taking following William Gallas's demotion from the captaincy. Ballack said: "We are on top of the League and they are 10 points behind us and need to win. At the moment they are not the strongest team because they have other problems now. It is our intention to beat them. A 13-point gap is a lot and we hope we can do this. It will be hard for them.

"Everyone at Chelsea is very focused on this title because we want to have it back at Stamford Bridge. Everybody is hungry and you can feel it in training."

Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has not given up hope on reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League, meanwhile, despite last night's 1-1 draw against Bordeaux.

He said: "Qualification is still in our hands, although we may not finish top of the group."
