Wenger's deal is good for Henry

13 April 2012

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry says Arsene Wenger's contract extension could prompt him to stay at the club.

The 24-year-old France striker, signed by Wenger from Juventus in 1999, was also given his professional debut by the coach at Monaco.

Henry has become central to the Gunners' Premiership and Champions League hopes.

"I am so happy at Arsenal," he said today. "I have a real love for that club and I am very happy with them.

"I found true happiness with Arsenal, and it is great for a player to have settled down in a club where he is happy.

"I am not going to lie. The fact Arsene decided to stay is very important for me.

"Knowing he is staying triggers the desire to stay too."
