West Brom's out of contract midfielder Zoltan Gera tempted by Fulham move

13 April 2012

West Brom's out-of-contract midfielder Zoltan Gera is understood to be attracting interest from Fulham - and is tempted by the possibility of a move to Craven Cottage.

The Baggies have made the Hungary international a final lucrative contract
offer to remain at the Hawthorns.

They are still waiting to hear officially whether Gera will extend his stay after helping them regain their Barclays Premier League status last month.

But it is believed Gera is attracted to Fulham, who 12 months ago signed Albion striker Diomansy Kamara although nothing has been finalised.

Gera has also been on the radar of FA Cup winners Portsmouth and Everton plus Bolton whose manager Gary Megson signed Gera when in charge of West Brom during the summer of 2004.

The playmaker has made a total of 154 appearances for West Brom.

Although Albion manager Tony Mowbray is well stocked with players in the centre of the park, he has made it clear he wants to keep Gera.

And chairman Jeremy Peace confirmed yesterday that the club had made Gera an attractive offer - "the best deal the club can make".

But he also conceded: "We understand from his representative that Zoltan has received substantial offers from other clubs... and we await his decision."
