New West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign Darren Randolph as his No2 goalkeeper.

The club are looking for a reliable back-up for Lukasz Fabianski after losing faith in Roberto following his nightmare run in the team.

The Hammers had identified Randolph and Asmir Begovic as potential targets and Moyes is ready to press ahead with a move for the former.

The Republic of Ireland international, 32, was at West Ham between 2015-17, before joining Middlesbrough for £5million.

Moyes is also targeting a central midfielder to bolster his options alongside Mark Noble and Declan Rice, with Jack Wilshere struggling for fitness and Carlos Sanchez out of favour.

Speaking after West Ham’s impressive 4-0 win over Bournemouth on New Year’s Day, Moyes outlined his plans for the January transfer window.

"I think we need to get young, progressive players with something to prove," Moyes said when asked what he is looking for next month.

"You still might have to sign a 30-year-old player now and again, even if it might not be your policy."
