Bradford's promising back-row forward Elliott Whitehead has pledged his future to the club by signing a new contract that will keep him at Odsal until at least the end of 2013.

Whitehead, who turned 21 earlier this month, made his Super League debut in 2009 and, after sitting out the Bulls' opening game of 2010, was an ever-present in the rest of their 29 matches.

"I had another year left on my previous deal but they offered me a new contract so I was happy to accept it as I don't want to go anywhere else," he said. "This is my home-town club and I love playing for them. I've enjoyed my time and I am really looking forward to next season and working with Mick Potter."

Bradford chairman Peter Hood added: "Elliott has been tremendous for us since he came into the side and we were keen to offer him this new improved deal to reward him for the progress he has made."
