Windies sneak rain-affected victory
The West Indies needed the Duckworth-Lewis method to score their first victory in the one-day series against Pakistan, winning by a single run at Bridgetown.
Dwayne Bravo responded to a signal from the dressing room to say they were trailing according to the DL method by smashing a towering six off Shahid Afridi in the 30th over, and two deliveries later the skies opened once again to end the match.
After numerous rain delays, the hosts began their innings with a revised target of 223 from 39 overs after Pakistan managed 248 for nine.
They attacked it aggressively, perhaps too aggressively as opener Kirk Edwards went for a duck. But Lendl Simmons made 76 off 70 and Darren Bravo added 21 off 26.
But after Bravo was caught at deep third man Ramnaresh Sarwan came in to partner Simmons, and his slow scoring - he made 28 off 56 - saw the West Indies fall behind the required rate.
After Simmons had gone, Bravo responded to signals from Darren Sammy and coach Otis Gibson to turn up the heat and did just that.
After smashing the six, he played two defensive shots to reach the end of the over with his wicket intact, and that was enough to give the hosts victory as they finished on 154 for four.
It gave the West Indies their first victory over a Test side other than Bangladesh since June 2009.
