Winter Olympics: Bobsleigh Brits are refusing to give up

13 April 2012

Nicola Minichiello was defiant despite trailing in 10th after the first two runs of the women's bobsleigh.

Britain's Minichiello and Gillian Cooke are world champions but trail leaders Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse, of Canada, by 1.38sec.

Minichiello said: "Until we cross the finish line tonight after the fourth run we are still shooting for gold medal. That's what we've always gone for."

Murdoch's hoping for Swede revenge

David Murdoch has a chance for revenge when Britain face Sweden in the curling play‑offs tonight.

Britain's 9-5 defeat to Norway in their final round-robin game set up a clash with the Swedes, who pulled off a shock 6-4 defeat over Murdoch's men in the tournament opener.

"At least we are not out of it," said the skipper, whose team will face Canada if they win.
