Woods extends rankings lead

Tiger Woods trebled his points lead at the top of the world rankings during 2000 after winning 10 of the 22 tournaments he entered.

The final rankings of the year showed the American had a 29.40 points average compared with 11.65 for South African Ernie Els who was second. American David Duval was third with 11.20.

Britain's Lee Westwood, the leading European golfer, was fifth, up from sixth, with compatriot Colin Montgomerie falling to sixth from third.
