A moment of magic from Rivaldo helped put Brazil through to a quarter-final clash with England.

In the 67th minute, the Barcelona striker controlled a cross from Ronaldinho on his chest, teed up the ball and lashed a long-range left-foot volley, which took a significant deflection, past Belgian goalkeeper Geert de Vlieger.

They wrapped up the victory when Ronaldo scored his fifth goal of the tournament, slotting home in the 87th minute.

Brazil's victory sets up a mouth-watering clash with England on Friday and coach Sven-Goran Eriksson and captain David Beckham were among the 40,440 crowd in Kobe today to see the South Americans beat an unlucky Belgian side who had a goal disallowed in the 36th minute. Belgium captain Marc Wilmots leapt above Roque Junior to head past a stranded Marcos, but the goal was disallowed by Jamaican referee Peter Prendergast for pushing.

Ronaldo - joint leading scorer with Germany's Miroslav Klose - said: "It was great to see the whole stadium full of yellow. It was something marvellous.

"The Cup starts now, every match is going to be a final. Now we must think about England.

"Playing England is going to be like a great final. We're going to have to analyse their best points.

"The match against England is going to be better than today's because they play better football. We will be very evenly matched."
