Yamaha snap up Corser

12 April 2012

Former World Superbike champion Troy Corser will race for Yamaha in 2007 after signing a deal with the Motor Italia team.

Australian Corser, who won the world title in 1996 and 2005, will line up alongside Japan's Nori Haga to compete on the team's new R1 machine.

Corser, who will begin testing the new bike at Mugello in Italy on October 25, said: "I am extremely happy to have the chance to work with Yamaha. The team has lots of experience and is very professional."

He added: "Nori and I get along well and I think together we will be strong in development and bike set-up.

"I'm looking forward to riding the bike and I will be aiming to score my third world title on the R1."
