3. It’s going to be bleak

If you thought Mr Selfridge had already hit rock bottom when he discovered his fiancée Nancy was a crook at the end of the third series, well, he hadn’t. This has been pegged as the darkest series that depicts Harry’s downfall when he is tempted by women and gambling, ultimately losing his grip on his empire.

4. The return of Lady Mae Loxley

It’s not all bad news, as having been absent from the third series on maternity leave, Katherine Kelly makes a come back to play the much loved Lady Mae Loxley.

5. New cast members

The final series of Mr Selfridge will welcome Sacha Dhawan (Line of Duty) - who will play a major new character - Lottie Tolhurst and Mimi Ndiweni (Cinderella) among others.

Mr Selfridge is on ITV tonight at 9pm.
