If you can’t wait for Blur to hit Hyde Park this summer as part of the British Summer Time concert series, you’re in luck – the iconic Britpop band’s recent Stateside gig will be available to stream online through this week.
Blur played New York City for the first time in 16 years last Friday, hitting the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The show came in support of new album The Magic Whip, which was released on April 27 to critical acclaim. The album is their first full-length release in 12 years, following 2003’s Think Tank, and immediately reached #1 in the album charts.
The gig saw Blur play the entirety of The Magic Whip – aside from Ice Cream Man, which they’re apparently still working out how to recreate live – as well as an encore including classic tracks Song 2 and Beetlebum.
The band have shared footage from the show, and will continue to add more live tracks through the week – first up comes Magic Whip track Ghost Ship, Song 2, and a trailer for the rest of the gig.
