Two couples are set to be dumped from Love Island in a brutal twist that sees contestants forced to make the final decision.

The islanders are busy celebrating Anna’s 29th birthday in tonight’s episode until Maura receives a text that quickly changes the mood, asking everyone to gather around the fire pit.

They then learn that the public have been voting for their favourite couple, with the pairs with the fewest votes at risk of being booted out of the competition. Islanders Amber Gill and Jordan Hames are exempt from the elimination as they are currently single.

The couple with the least votes from the public is then dumped from the island.

The remaining duos aren’t safe for long, however, as Tommy receives a text which reads: “One more couple will be dumped, the other couple will remain in the villa.

“The couple which stays and couple that is dumped will be decided by your fellow islanders.”

The islanders have a very difficult decision to make - but which couple’s time in the villa is up?

Tonight’s instalment also sees Tommy Fury decide to take his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague to the next level by asking her to be his girlfriend.

The boxer cooks up an elaborate scheme with Curtis Pritchard, which involves writing a special message for Molly-Mae’s cuddly toy Ellie Belly to deliver to its owner.

“You know how much you mean to me and you’re the only girl for me,” he tells her. “I only want to be with you. Therefore I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?”

Reflecting on the moment in the Hideaway, Tommy admits: “Asking Molly-Mae to be my girlfriend was single-handedly the most nervous I’ve ever been in my entire life.”

Will his nerves pay off - and will Tommy and Molly-Mae become the villa’s first “official” couple?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
