Alison Hammond's younger boyfriend is under pressure from his mother to end their relationship, it has been reported.

Hammond and David Putnam, 26, first crossed paths when Hammond, 49, became Putman’s client last year and soon their friendship turned romantic.

The couple recently confirmed their relationship, with Hammond also revealing he had met her son Aiden, 19

However, it was reported that Putman’s mother Olga doesn’t support their romance and has been urging him to find a “nice Russian girl”.

A source told The Sun: “She thinks Alison is way too old for David and doesn’t like all the attention her TV fame has brought to her son.

“She’s uncomfortable that her son is with someone who has so much more financial power than him. Olga’s traditional values don’t sit well with their relationship.”

The insider also claimed that the 63-year-old told her son “in no uncertain terms that he must end it” and added this “kind of relationship doesn’t fit her beliefs”.

His mother, who lives in Sochi, is also believed to have been calling her son everyday to tell her how “unhappy” she is, however Putman is “happy with his relationship so anything his mum says isn’t going to affect him”.

Putman’s father is said to be a retired welder and panel beater who relocated to Russia in the late 1990s after marrying Russian architect Olga Kovalenko following his divorce from his first wife. David is reportedly living with his 71-year-old uncle in Slough.

The Standard has contacted Alison Hammond’s rep for comment.

The report comes days after the This Morning presenter was grilled about her blossoming romance while a guest on the latest episode of Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast Parenting Hell.

When asked about her relationship status, Hammond confirmed that she is “not single” and that she is “dating”.

The podcast hosts then went on to ask her about what it is like dating as a single parent now that her son was an adult.

“I think it’s more difficult now because he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them,” she confessed.

“It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.”

The For The Love Of Dogs star then dished that not only has Aiden met her new fella, he has even given him his seal of approval.

“The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and he is like ‘yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’.

“When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice,” she continued.

“Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested.

“And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work. There are moments where I think, ‘who’s the parent here?!’ It’s nice though because I always feel like there’s someone there looking over me, protecting me.”
