Liam Gallagher has admitted that he wants Oasis to reform.

The rock star claimed that he was keen on reuniting the 1990s band in court papers read out during his divorce proceedings on Thursday.

But despite Gallagher’s apparent desire to get the band back together, he claims that it is not a currently a ‘possibility’.

Gallagher, who ran up a staggering £800,000 in legal costs with his ex-wife Nicole Appleton, complained that he currently had no prospect of re-entering the music business.

Judge Martin O'Dwyer, who ruled that the couple’s assets should be split in half, told the court that Gallagher had been in “well-known music group Oasis.”

“It was formed in 1991 and discontinued in 2009, it is said after an argument between (Gallagher) and his brother,” he said.

“(Gallagher) says there are no plans to reform and, although he would like to do so, he does not anticipate there is a possibility currently of any such reform.

"Subsequent to Oasis, (Gallagher) formed another group called Beady Eye but they disbanded in 2014,” he continued.

“Although he expressly would like to re-enter the music business, currently he says there is no prospect of that.”

The judge went on to say that his current business ventures were in a fashion company Pretty Green.

He then suggested that Gallagher could increase his income through ‘celebrity appearances’ on television shows.

“He has proved both in his membership of Oasis and in the formation of Beady Eye that there is the potential for him to earn much greater sums,” he said.
