Piers Morgan has dragged Gordon Ramsay into his one-man war against papooses.

His comments prompted an immediate backlash on Twitter, with stars including Captain America actor Chris Evans wading in to criticise the host for “quantifying masculinity.”

Seemingly still preoccupied with the innocuous baby carrier, Morgan shared a photo on Twitter of Ramsay carrying his baby son Oscar in a sling.

The 54-year-old took a double swipe at the chef in his post, managing to mention veganism - another of his pet peeves - and papooses in the brief missive.

“First he launches ‘Vegan Wellington,’ now he’s wearing a papoose - what has happened to you @GordonRamsay?!!!” he wrote.

Bringing up the topic on today's edition of Good Morning Britain, Morgan branded him "a vegan slathering papoose wearing numpty."

The pair exchanged harsh words earlier this year when Morgan took issue with the launch of a vegan roast dinner at Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen restaurant.

After the chef shared a photo of the plan-based meal on social media, the famously vegan-averse Morgan claimed the dish looked “utterly revolting.”

Late Late Show host James Corden then made Ramsay aware of the comment when the Kitchen Nightmares presenter appeared on his chat show.

“So Piers Morgan is now a food critic?” he responded, adding: “Go and f*** yourself! Seriously? Really?”

“Veganism is on the rise, we’ve got to adapt and I just have to eat a slice of humble pie,” he said.

Ramsay and his wife Tana welcomed their fifth child in April, telling fans: “After 3 baftas and one Emmy… finally we have won an Oscar.”

The couple are also parents to 21-year-old Megan, 19-year-old twins Holly and Jack and 17-year-old Matilda.
