Actress Daisy Ridley stole the show at a special fashion event to celebrate the forthcoming Star Wars film.

The Force Awakens star was the guest of honour at the Star Wars Fashion Finds the Force event at the Old Selfridges Hotel on Thursday night.

Ridley, who plays Rey in the eagerly-anticipated new film, posed in one of the dresses created especially for the catwalk show.

A number of high-profile designers, including JW Anderson and Christopher Raeburn, have created one-off pieces inspired by the film in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Other guests who showed up to see the sci-fi inspired collection included Donna Air, Amber Anderson and Roxie Nafousi.

Ridley, 23, was a relative unknown until she bagged the high-profile part in the biggest film of the year.

Speaking about keeping it a secret from everyone, she recently told Elle magazine:

“I told my mum and my sisters— then my sister told her boyfriend, and my mum told her friend. I was like, 'Great, guys—you are great.’”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in cinemas on December 17.
