A leading animal rights charity has offered Katie Price £5,000 to stop owning pets.

The veteran glamour model, 45, has sparked concern after seven animals, including five dogs, a horse and a chameleon, have died in her care, with many involved in traffic accidents near her home in Sussex.

Following reports that Price had recently given away puppy Tank to an electrician after “losing interest” and has now acquired a new £1,200 Sphynx kitten, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have written an open letter to the mum-of-five in which they offer her £5,000 if she signs a legally-binding contract to not acquire another animal.

“While your intentions may be good, the ever-growing number of animals who have either died under your supervision or been given away is impossible to ignore, and people are rightly concerned,' PETA Vice President Elisa Allen wrote, in the letter shared by The Sun

“Whatever you may offer as reasons for their suffering, relinquishment, or demise, the fact is that you are consistently harming these sensitive, sentient individuals, and I hope you agree that this is a solution.”

PETA added: “Things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals under her supervision”.

The Standard has contacted a representative for Katie Price for comment.

This is not the first time that PETA have voiced their concerns about Price.

Following the death of the seventh pet died in her care, they issued a statement saying she had “blood on her hands”.

The mum-of-five already cares for four Chihuahuas named Captain, Buddy, Colin, and Batman, and a French Bulldog named Precious. Last June, Price's protection dog Blade was hit by a car. The tragedy happened just seven months after another of Price's dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same road.

The year before that, a delivery driver hit her Alsatian, Queenie, who was gifted to her by ex Kieran Hayler on her 38th birthday.

In 2020 a second Alsatian, Sparkle, was hit by a car after escaping onto the A24.

Months later, French Bulldog Rolo suffocated after being squashed underneath a chair.

Price has also had to give away an out-of-control Alsatian, Bear, for attacking other animals.
