Bulls swoop for Hall

12 April 2012

Bradford Bulls have signed prop or back-row forward Glenn Hall from Australian champions Manly Sea Eagles on a three-year contract from next season.

The 28-year-old former Sydney Roosters and South Sydney forward has made 55 appearances for the Sea Eagles, including last year's Grand Final and the World Club Challenge win over Leeds earlier this term.

"Glenn's a very tough, no-nonsense type of player who is real strong, gives great go-forward and gets you quick play-the-balls," said Bradford coach Steve McNamara.

"His last two seasons have been fantastic for Manly and we feel the need to bring a bit more of that sort of toughness up front here," he added.

"I was interested in bringing him here for this season but couldn't make it happen. I'm glad we have managed it now though."

Hall is hoping to link up with his former Manly team-mate Steve (Beaver) Menzies, who is expected to stay on at Odsal after becoming a big hit in his first season in Super League.

"I'm looking forward to getting there, playing some really consistent, tough football and stiffening up the middle of the ruck for the Bulls," he said.

"My football over the last three years has been blossoming but I'm still learning. I've a lot of good football and probably better football still to play.

"Beaver's got plenty of good things to say about the club but I met Steve Mac last year when he was over here with the England squad and he's a terrific man."
