Denilson close to Trotters switch

12 April 2012

Former Brazil international Denilson is set to to complete a move to Bolton on Wednesday, according to his brother.

The 31-year-old, who was once the world's more expensive player, has been training with the Trotters and has surprised manager Gary Megson and the coaching team with his physical fitness.

"He has undergone several tests and was highly praised by the staff," Denilson's brother Denis de Oliveira Araujo told Gazetaesportiva.net.

"They said that, despite not playing for a month, he has the same conditions of the other players."

The move to the Reebok Stadium will be finalised later on Wednesday, according to Denis.

"Bolton board members told us that Denilson's situation has to be settled on Wednesday," he added.

"I am optimistic - they gave him the key of the closet of the training centre."

However, Denilson has another offer if the switch does not come off.

"If they do not give us an answer then I am going to consider that the negotiation is over and, in this case, we have other proposal from another European club," added Denis.
