Eaton efforts not wasted on Lloyd

12 April 2012

Chris Eaton has forced himself into the Davis Cup plans of Great Britain captain John Lloyd.

Eaton, 20, hit the headlines when he reached the second round of Wimbledon despite being the lowest ranked player in the men's draw.

Lloyd wrote in the Mail on Sunday: "Chris has played himself into my thoughts for the crucial tie we have against Austria at the All England Club. "Apart from his game, driven by his massive service, I have been impressed by his attitude and work ethic."

The British number 13 is expected to rocket around 200 places from 661st in the world when the new rankings are revealed next week.

And, in a further boost to his fledgling career, Eaton could also find himself in the Britain squad to face Austria in September's Davis Cup World Group play-off.
