Wolves have suffered another major setback after midfielder Dave Edwards was ruled out for up to 10 weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

The Wales international was injured during Saturday's 1-0 win at Tottenham and is facing the threat of surgery.

He is the third Wolves player to sustain ankle damage in less than a month.

Winger Michael Kightly was injured against Birmingham City on November 29 and striker Andy Keogh will have surgery this week after he suffered ligament damage in training.

Kightly is set to be missing until the middle of January with Keogh facing two months on the sidelines.

Manager Mick McCarthy said: "Losing Dave is another big blow for us.

"Dave has always been available. He is very versatile and has done very well this season. He has done everything we have asked.

"Losing three players so quickly is a problem we could have done without."
