Arsenal target Julian Draxler expects to stay at PSG next season

Arsenal target Julian Draxler has suggested he is unlikely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Gunners have long held an interest in Draxler – though it has been nearly four years since they have made a bid for the 24-year-old – and identified him as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

As it stands Arsenal are set to lose both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for nothing when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

However Draxler, who has struggled to establish a consistent spot in the PSG side since the £200million arrival of Neymar in the summer, does not intend to be on the transfer market when Arsenal are likely to be scouring for star names to replace Ozil and Sanchez.

“I am not thinking about leaving the club in winter or summer,” Draxler, who moved to France from Wolfsburg in January, said.

“I am in mid-season with PSG now and I am focused on the high aims we have.

“It is not a relevant moment now to think about my future. But, of course, the Bundesliga is always interesting.”

Bayern Munich and Liverpool have also been linked with Draxler, who has started just one of PSG’s four Champions League games this season.
