David Luiz missed Chelsea training on Monday ahead of the club's Champions League game with Atletico Madrid as the defender continues his recovery from a knee problem.

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte revealed last week that Luiz has fluid in his knee, and will be out of action for an unspecified amount of time.

The Brazilian has been receiving treatment on the issue at the club's training base in Cobham, and is set to miss Chelsea's Champions League Group C game at home to Atletico on Wednesday after sitting out training on Monday to work with the club physios indoors.

Charly Musonda also missed Chelsea's training session at Cobham as he continues his recovery from a knee problem, but Conte had the rest of his squad available as they prepared for the visit of Diego Simeone's men.

Among the players to join up with the first team in training for the first time were Eden Hazard's younger brother, Kylian Hazard, goalkeeper Marcin Bulka and attacking midfielder Jacob Maddox.
