Pep Guardiola has confirmed the return of Erling Haaland to the Manchester City team for the visit of Burnley.

A fully-fit squad will be at the Spaniard's disposal on Wednesday night after the Norwegian completed his recovery from a foot injury that has keep him out for over a month.

"First time he is back," confirmed Guardiola in his pre-game press conference.

Manuel Akanji is also available following a short spell on the sidelines.

"We have all the squad, we are stronger," continued the City boss. "[Haaland] is an important player for us.

"The most important news is almost all of the squad is fit. We don't have injuries. [Akanji] is back, training well, he doesn't feel his knee. John [Stones] as well."

City play shortly before Liverpool's match with Chelsea in midweek and can cut the gap to the Premier League leaders to just two points, while holding a game in hand.

And Guardiola is in confident mood ahead of a fixture which his club has only lost once since 1974 as he addressed questions over whether he could consider following in Jurgen Klopp's footsteps by taking time out of the game.

"I have everything a manager could dream of," he said.

"We changed a lot of players in seven years but all of them have been incredibly supportive. Good environment. I have everything. I feel good and of course one day it is going to finish but I don’t think about that now."
