The Football Association are set to assess referee Jonathan Moss's report from Chelsea's Premier League loss to West Ham at the weekend to decide whether they will take action against Jose Mourinho.

The Blues manager was sent to the stands during the half-time break at Upton Park for allegedly entering Moss's room and arguing with the official over Nemanja Matic's sending off, which occurred minutes before the interval, along with Cesc Fabregas' disallowed goal from earlier in the half.

It has also been reported that Mourinho referenced Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and swore at Moss after initially being invited into the referee's room.

West Ham defender James Collins said he hadn't seen Mourinho and Moss speaking, but had noticed the Chelsea coach waiting to speak to the referee at half-time.

"We walked out and someone said he’d been sent off. I could see he was waiting to speak to the ref. It’s not going too well for him with the refs and the decisions at the minute," he said.

The FA will now wait until they receive Moss's report about the incident before they decide whether to give Mourinho a touchline ban or a fine.

Despite spending the second half of the match in the directors' box following his dismissal, the Portuguese tactician had appeared calm during the game despite his Chelsea side going down to an early goal from Mauro Zarate.

However, Mourinho came to life after Kurt Zouma's header was deemed to have not gone fully over the line by goal-line technology before Fabregas' effort was flagged as offside.

The two calls resulted in the Blues coach getting off the bench to speak to the fourth official before he entered Slaven Bilic's technical area to make his views on the decision known to the linesman.

When Matic was then sent off for a second yellow for pulling down Diafra Sakho and Mourinho's assistant, Silvino Louro, was also dismissed from the touchline for complaining about the midfielder's red card, the Chelsea coach appeared stunned but did not remonstrate with the officials at that point.

The Portuguese manager has already been fined £50,000 and given a suspended one-match stadium ban for comments he made about officials in the aftermath of Chelsea's home defeat to Southampton earlier this month.

The incident on Saturday comes with Mourinho's Chelsea side sitting in 15th place in the Premier League table after suffering their fifth loss of the season to the Hammers.
