Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Germany’s 2-1 win over Algeria in the last 16 clash in Porto Alegre.

Joachim Low’s men couldn’t make the breakthrough in the 90 minutes but soon after the start of extra time Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle scored cleverly from close range, and Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil doubled the Germans’ lead in the 119th minute.

Algeria still found time to score a consolation goal through substitute Abdelmoumene Djabou, but it is Germany who advance to the quarter final, where they will meet France on Friday.
