Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has denied reports he was close to penning a deal at Birmingham City.
The 34-year-old has been a free agent since his Trabzonspor contract was terminated in August and the Birmingham Mail said the Frenchman had been in discussions with Blues manager Lee Clark but a deal could not be reached.

Despite reports negotiations with Clark had broken down over Malouda’s wage demands, the attacking talent has dismissed talk he was weighing up a move to the Championship club.

Malouda – who scored 35 Premier League goals during six seasons at Stamford Bridge – took to social media to tell followers: ‘I don’t know any Lee Clark’.
The former France international won the Premier League and three FA Cup titles during his last spell in England and has been training with his first club Chateauroux in a bid to maintain fitness during his current period of limbo.
He has been linked with the top flight’s newcomers Leicester City, but remains unattached as he ponders further options.
