Millwall manager Neil Harris was grateful for the experience of Steve Morison after the former Norwich striker hit the winner in the FA Cup fourth-round clash with Watford.
Morison struck five minutes from time to give the Lions a richly deserved 1-0 victory over their Premier League visitors at the New Den.
Harris told BBC One: "We could have been three or four up at half-time and you get to thinking 'Will it come? Will it come?'.
"Then you just need that little bit of magic, that moment of calmness in the box. Fortunately the experience shines.
"As a club and a team we emphasise what the FA Cup is all about. We're an honest bunch. We've got great work ethic. We're well organised but you have to add quality to that as well and today we certainly had that."
Matchwinner Morison echoed the sentiments of his manager as he now turns his attention to the League One clash with Walsall on Wednesday, and said: "We're a good honest bunch.
"Everyone works hard every day and on the pitch sometimes it doesn't go for us.
"We just give 110 per cent and today we were brilliant from start to finish. It took a good goal at the end to win the game but it's well deserved.
"We want to go as far as we can but we've got to keep our feet on the ground and most important is Wednesday night. If we don't turn up Wednesday night this is a waste of time for us.
"So that's what we want to do and we want to get promoted and enjoy this on the way."
