Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United is the right place for Paul Pogba to develop into the best player in the world at, as the midfielder's world-record transfer from Juventus to Old Trafford moves ever closer.

Pogba is set to undergo a medical with United on Monday before completing his move, which is believed to be worth about £89million, in the coming days - four years after he left the Red Devils in search of regular playing time.

During his time in Turin, the midfielder has become one of the most highly-rated players in the world while he has also cemented his place in the France national team's XI.

And with Pogba expected to soon become Mourinho's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Portuguese coach has insisted the midfielder is making the right decision in returning to Old Trafford.

"We want to bring Manchester United to the top again and if you want to be the best player in the world this is the club to join," Mourinho said.

"We have everything to offer him and he is coming because he knows the club and the city and he wants to be a part of the Manchester United project."
