Holah signs for Ospreys

12 April 2012

Waikato and Chiefs flanker Marty Holah has confirmed he will join Magners League side Ospreys in October.

The 30-year-old openside flanker has signed a two-year contract with the Welsh club, ending a career-long association with Waikato rugby.

"I had a couple of offers during this year and it was a pretty hard stretch trying to make a decision whether to go now or play out my career in New Zealand," Holah told The Waikato Times. "One moment I was going to go and the next moment I was going to stay, and it was a really tough decision to come to really."

He added: "It's been such a big part of my life so far, playing for Waikato and the Chiefs.

"It's pretty much the only real profession I've had. I've got my family's business, but that's only ever been a sideline to rugby.

"I don't think it matters when I leave. I'll still have a few regrets and I'm sure I'll still have a few mind games going on six months after I leave as to whether it was the right decision."
